Just Gorgeous!!

>> Monday, August 2, 2010

I usually don't blog about celebrity weddings but I just have to this time! As you and everyone else in America know Chelsea Clinton was married on Saturday. Well I just have to say that she wore one of the most drop dead gorgeous dresses I think I have ever seen. I have seen some beautiful dresses but most of the time they are too over the top to enjoy, but this Vera Wang treasure is STUNNING! I LOVED everything about it!

The Perfect Bra...for me anyway!

>> Wednesday, November 11, 2009

When I went for my first fitting, I had a bridal bustier with ribbing. My dress kept pulling and I thought I might have gained weight and totally freaked! Well the lovely Wayne, my fashion consultant at Amrhein's told me to take the bustier off and the dress would fit better, and voila, he was right! I didn't feel comfortable with going with a bra altogether so I went shopping at one of my favorite store: Victoria's Secret. I had no problem finding the right bra, their consultants are so sweet and nice and after trying on only three, I found one that rocks!

The Body by Victoria®, Multi-Way Bra was super comfortable and soft and I fell like I can wear it the entire wedding day and not get poked and prodded with wired and ribbing. I also LOVE this bra because it can be thrown in my underwear drawer to be worn again and again instead of just once if I went with the full bustier. If you are a bride wearing a strapless dress and need that perfect bra, I would recommend this to any of you :)

Sneek Peek of My Dress & Bridal Party Dresses Ordered!!

>> Monday, October 5, 2009

Saturday was GREAT! I went for my first fitting and my dress fits like a glove. The only alteration that I need is the top of my dress because it sticks out a little. I needed to find the right bra which I did thanks to Victoria's Secret, Infinity Edge Multi Way Bra...I have not been able to try this on yet with my dress but I will at my next fitting. Here is a sneak-peek of my dress::

We didn't have any luck at DB, my sister was just not happy with any of the dresses she tried on so she ended up picking out something at the boutique where my dress was purchased and also got 10% off, yay!! My sister/MOH found a dress that she absolutely LOVED! It's Alfred Angelo Style 7017. We ordered it in Espresso & Champagne.

My bridesmaids will be wearing Alfred Angelo Style 7016 in Espresso, they look great together!

{{Eye Candy}} Dream Wedding Dresses!

>> Thursday, October 1, 2009

I feel so bad that I can't show you guys my dress. I thought if I couldn't show you the real thing I would show you some of my dream dresses. If money was no object with my planning I would have purchased a dress from Priscilla of Boston. Not only do they have beautiful wedding dresses but their salons are beyond amazing and I have heard nothing but GREAT things about their customer service. Their 2009 collection has so many stunning gowns that range from mermaids to the classic a-line. There are many contributing designers that sketch and make dresses for their unique salon but my favorite designs come from the work of Melissa Sweet, her they are classic with a simple twist, love her!

If money was no object for you, who would be your dream dress designer & why?

The Dress Has Been Ordered...

>> Monday, May 4, 2009

Good Monday Morning to you all! I have some very exciting news to share...I have finally ordered my dress! Because I found my perfect shoe I was able to go ahead with my order. I went back in February and tried on dresses expecting to order then but I learned that I needed to have my shoes first so they could do the hollow-to-hem measurement. Now if you were like me I had no idea what they were talking about. The hollow-to-hem measurement is a specific length measurement used for bridal gowns only. Some designers offer the option to have a gown cut to a particular length for certain bridal gown designs. The hollow-to-hem measurement is taken from the depression at the base of the neck just above the collarbone to the hem (Definition found HERE). I had to have this measurement because my dress has very intricate beading along the hemline that a seamstress will not be able to alter.

I had a few custom alterations made to my dress that the boutique offered to do for me but I felt more comfortable having them done through the designer because they know their dresses better than any seamstress. I am not ready to show the dress quite yet but I will as soon as she arrives, I promise!!!

More Dress Ideas

>> Thursday, February 5, 2009

In about 16 days I will be going dress shopping for the first time since I got engaged. In my last dress post I showed you guys a few Maggie Sottero dresses that I loved. This go round I will be showing a few dresses that are more in my budget and I won't have to travel two hours to get to the bridal shop. A few weeks ago at a bridal show here in the valley David's Bridal sponsored a fashion show, and for the first time I got to see just how gorgeous Oleg Cassini wedding gowns really are, which are exclusively sold at David's Bridal. These dresses are very well made and the look so classy and gorgeous! There were four dresses that I absolutely fell in love with and want to try on.

This dress (Style CRL277) is just gorgeous and is my favorite of the four. My only issue is if it would make me look too curvy, because of my "pop bottle" shape.

This dress (Style CT258) is also very pretty and would definately hide my hips with it's A-Line cut. The color is stunning!

I love the lace and sweetheart top on this dress (CT282) and this picture does it no justice it's much better in person.

I am really liking the empire waste on this dress (CU0099), again it would help to hide some of my curves.

Balero or Jacket

>> Thursday, December 18, 2008

Since I will be getting married in March, I will definately need a balero or some sort of cover-up. Virginia is still really cold late March and early April, I'm just not sure if I want to do a full removable jacket or just a cute balero. Etsy has the most talented designers, I found a bunch that I just adored. If you are having a winter wedding or just want to add a chic little balero to your wedding day ensemble then check these cute little fashions out.

First Look at Dress Ideas

>> Monday, December 1, 2008

I have not been officially dress shopping yet but I have been cyber dress-looking, yep I totally made that phrase up, lol. I have an hour glass shape, but a little more in the hips. I am not too fond of the poofy a-line, and everything I have read recommends hippy women wear the poofy a-line. I really like the slim-a-line & drop waist. I won't be sure what looks right on me until I actually try something on but below are some that I love! They are all Maggie Sottero designs (love, love this designer). Which do you think will work best on a curvy women?

The picture is being stubborn! Click the link...
