Rethinking my centerpieces....

I initially wanted my high centerpieces to be the Carnation orbs on top of a cylinder vase, but they are going to be very pricey and with my final floral meeting coming up I am trying to find a more budget friendly alternative. I want to keep things classy and fell in love with curly willow branches. They will be tall but not as pricey as the carnation orbs. See the picture for my inspration on the willow branches. I will not have roses but carnations and moss. What are some of your thoughts?

Hey, What's the Bright Idea?

Since Spring is just around the corner I thought I would throw some centerpiece ideas out there for anyone planning a Spring wedding. From what I have read from the experts in the wedding industry, BRIGHT is in! Brides are seeking to make a bold statement with bright, colorful flowers including, chrysanthemums,hot pink roses, daisies & dahlias to name a few. Beautiful produce like lemons, limes oranges and pears are also being incorporated for more color, not to mention the fragrance! These are some gorgeous centerpieces so enjoy & Happy Weekend!

Florist Meeting #1

So I can cross another thing off my list! I had my first florist meeting yesterday. I know I initially blogged that I would be doing my centerpieces DIY with calla lilies that I would order online. Well after speaking with my sister and friends they scared me. What if my flowers arrived dead? What if they are not open? What if the wrong flowers arrive? So after accessing all of that I figured that I would set a very small wedding budget for flowers, which we have room for because my mom is paying for our cake.

I decided to use an inexpensive yet pretty flower: the white carnation. If used the correct way this flower can look elegant and classy. I will share more about the design later. I also decided to add some callas in the mix as well, in the low centerpieces. It will not be as many as I initially wanted but it will keep the costs down. Also to keep costs down I will use my own vases and cut my own bamboo from my property. Also the aisle decorations will become my centerpices in the reception area, and the mantle decorations from the ceremony will be moved to decorate the cake table and sweetheart table!

The florist is WONDERFUL, he is very knowledgeable. I went armed with lots of questions and he answered each one with no problems. He just opened his business 2 weeks ago so that’s a plus. His prices will probably be very affordable since he needs to build his portfolio. He is working up a proposal for me, so I will share once I get it. I will still meet with Florist #2 in March because I don’t want to jump on the first train rolling; I need to weigh my options.

Budget Centerpieces

If you read my blog often, you know that I'm a DIY bride on a tight budget. I want beautiful centerpieces just like any other bride. I really don't want to use silk or artificial flowers so I have been on a search for some beautiful yet affordable real flower centerpiece ideas.

I was watching, Who's Wedding is it Anyway and I saw that a bride ordered flowers online and it gave me hope that I would be able to get those centerpieces I wanted. I started searching different online flower shops and found Pacific Callas. They are affordable flowers and the flower shop tells you exactly how to take care of the flowers and make the best of them. I read through their testimonies and looked at the wedding gallery and I have to say that I like what I read and saw!

The centerpieces below is what I want for my tables, I like the high low set-up for my tables I think it will look great.

I was so lucky to find 5 cylinder vases at TJ Maxx for $8 a pieces which I think is a steal! So I am definately on the prowl for some bowl vases now because I am bound and determined to have these beautiful centerpieces at my wedding reception!
