The Guestbook

>> Monday, January 19, 2009

I went to my first bridal show of the season and had a BLAST! I won a $300 gift certificate to an awesome videographer, WOW! The place hosting the bridal show had a seperate room that was set-up for a wedding, and the guestbook table was just a book on the table that we had to sign. Which brings me to my question today, do you have any idea of what you will do for your guestsbook/wish table/etc.?

My favorite guest wish table is the Martha Stewart set-up with the vase and the colored cards, I think it's gorgeous to look at and is easy for guests to get to. I want something that will not hold the guests up and something that can be done more than one at a time. So I purchased a gorgeous vase from a discount store (I got a $50 vase for $16.99) and I am now on the prowl for nice inexpensive giftcard size paper with envelopes. Another idea that Martha has is to have a wish from you (the couple) to your guests (see pic #3). How sweet would it be just to offer a thank-you to your guests or to say something nice in return (Love this idea!). Below are just a few ideas that I love.

Do you have your own idea for your guestbook?

I do like the idea of the vase with the cards! Very cute!
We are going to create a blurb book (or something like that) with all of our engagement pictures to have as our guest book. That way when the wedding is over we will have a nice coffee table book that includes our engagement pictures!
For our rehearsal dinner we are going to have a white photo mat for all of the people at the rehearsal dinner to sign.

I really liked the Martha Stewart idea. Simply yet fabulous. We did a blurb book. Try a local hobby store like Michaels for less expensive paper, etc.

Picture five is a little similar to how I plan to do my guest book, but instead on my guest placing them back into the envelopes, I want them to string them to a branch. I'm loving the wishing bowl you have!

I love the idea of having the guests write down advise on a card and put it in a book or vase. This happened for my bridal shower and it was really fun to read them!

Another idea is to have guests sign their name and a note in a coffee table book of the honeymoon or wedding location. My friends did this and I thought it was very fun and unique.

I love the picture with the signatures, and wherever that picture came from they did a great job incorporating it to the room.

That is awesome news about the gift card for the videographer! Congrats!

We are creating a blurb book to use as our guest book - I love those things!

I'm thinking we're going the photo book direction, but I do love the typewriter thing! Another idea I saw recently somewhere was postcards that a family member then mailed to the couple so they arrived home from their honeymoon with a mailbox full of love!

We are going to have a blurb book with our engagement (and hawaii wedding) pictures. And I also want to have a wish tree.

I think my photobooth people are bringing the guestbook, which is exciting... but i definitely have a bunch of other ideas that i would use if they didnt' do that :)

We are doing a couple of things.... hope it doesn't overload our guests, but we love both ideas. We bought a St. Louis themed photog. book with the intention of folks signing the space next to a pic that means a lot to them/has special meaning to them. Love this idea as a coffee table book.

We're also going to do a wish/prayer tree, where guests write their wishes/prayers for us and hang them on a tree of manzanita branches in vases.

I couldn't decide on one so we're doing them both!
